Our first 24 hours
There has been no stopping since we got here.
We left SF in a downpour and flew to DC then a direct flight to Buenos Aires.
Our friend Andie is from BA, but lives in NY now. She arranged for her brother to pick us up from the airport. That was a huge favor considering our travel-weary state and mediocre Spanish skills -- Richard can do a great health intake in Spanish and I can order a burrito, but beyond that we are fumbling.
We are renting an apartment from one of Richard's work colleagues. It's in a nice neighborhood (Recoleta) and taxis are cheap and convenient -- so long as you have exact change.
We got a bite to eat and walked around the area a bit. This is a meat-eater's paradise. Beef is plentiful and inexpensive.
During our walk I swore I saw a friend from SF (now living in LA) but dismissed the idea as absurd. Later we saw on facebook that he is here shooting footage of dogs or something like that -- some Hollywood thing.
We will catch up with him later this week.
We are off to an antiques fair this morning.
